Grand Opening Mingle Log
You've just moved to Farethere City!
Why? Well, you don't seem to want to dwell on it too hard. You certainly remember who you are and where you're from - it's not as though you have amnesia or anything like that, of course not. You just don't really want to think about the events immediately leading up to your moving here for some reason.
That's not important anyway. What matters is that you've just moved in to a new town! It seems like there are a lot of other people besides you moving in today, too. There's a giant 'Welcome to Farethere City' banner hung up between two trees, and there's all kinds of food and drink on tables underneath, including plenty you've probably never seen before.
Now's a good chance to meet your neighbors and get yourself situated. Wander around town a little - check out the library, or figure out what on earth those mushroom-shaped doors at the far end of town are for. Or just pig out on the food - you did just unpack all your stuff today, no one will blame you for taking the chance to relax.
(Don't think too hard about the unboxing process. Or why there might be some things in your house that you don't remember buying.)
Your mayor is floating about greeting people. You'll properly get to meet him at some point, so be sure to ask him all the questions you have about your new home.

I could try spicy. I don't eat it often. [That she remembers, though thinking about it if she likes spicy sort of makes her head hurt.]
This is the wine that goes with this? [Of course she accidentally picks out the wrong wine.] What is this dish called? It's very unusual looking.

[She doesn't remember the exact details or that her world had a lot of weird flora and fauna, those vegetables being on the mild side. She just knows that's what they're called and that they're tasty.]
Oh, and it's this wine, not that one. Though ain't like you can't pick it anyways.

Then I shall have that one. [Grainne picks out the eggplant and the right wine, but she gives the wine a look of curiosity as she lifts the glass.] I wonder how it was started, choosing which wine goes best with which food. Well, this looks delicious, miss- oh, how rude of me. What is your name?

[She helps herself to a plate of red peppers covered with darker red flakes, then downs it down with one of the more fruity wines.]

Still seems like a strange thing to do with wine when you think about it. Surely, any good wine should go with any dish. I often drink wine with cake. And chocolates.

Oh, it ain't horribly important. 'Least you're drinkin' good wine. But like I said, some flavors go well with others.

I learned well that. I tried to put apricot with rhubarb and chocolate once in a cake I was designing. It... was not as good as strawberry and rhubarb. You cannot go wrong with raspberry and chocolate though.
[At least in her opinion; someone else might like apricot and rhubarb. But she was paid to be discerning when it came to cakes.]

How about something spicy this time? Perhaps later, I could bake you a cake.

[She hands over another plate of the same thing she was eating as well as the fruity wine. The flavor is overall fairly spicy, with a mixture of savory and sweet tastes.]
no subject
Oh my.
[She takes a sip of the wine.]
That is quite a kick, or I have no tolerance. [Probably no tolerance.] What sort of spice is in this?
