You've just moved to Farethere City!

Why? Well, you don't seem to want to dwell on it too hard. You certainly remember who you are and where you're from - it's not as though you have amnesia or anything like that, of course not. You just don't really want to think about the events immediately leading up to your moving here for some reason.

That's not important anyway. What matters is that you've just moved in to a new town! It seems like there are a lot of other people besides you moving in today, too. There's a giant 'Welcome to Farethere City' banner hung up between two trees, and there's all kinds of food and drink on tables underneath, including plenty you've probably never seen before.

Now's a good chance to meet your neighbors and get yourself situated. Wander around town a little - check out the library, or figure out what on earth those mushroom-shaped doors at the far end of town are for. Or just pig out on the food - you did just unpack all your stuff today, no one will blame you for taking the chance to relax.

(Don't think too hard about the unboxing process. Or why there might be some things in your house that you don't remember buying.)

Your mayor is floating about greeting people. You'll properly get to meet him at some point, so be sure to ask him all the questions you have about your new home.

How are you liking the place?

It is... [She hesitates a moment, trying to find the right word to describe what she feels.] friendly. Everyone here seems to be very welcoming. It seems a bit different for me. Perhaps because I am used to large places.

It can feel a bit too cozy. But knowing all your neighbors is nice too, isn't it?

[impossibilities]

I... [Something made her trail off, Grainne wincing as a half buried thought brushed by her.] I suppose so, yes. That's what community is about. [She manages a smile.] That and gossip.

I’m always here for gossip, if you want~

[He doesn’t miss that wince, but he doesn’t comment on it either.]

[Smiling just slightly, she shakes her head.]

Gossip is so naughty though, someone could get into trouble. Oh, I'm Grainne.

Oh! [How embarrassing; she had whapped the mayor.]

It is a pleasure as well. I-I suppose first impressions are not everything... I'm sorry about that.

Nothing to worry about! [It's not like she has a lot of experience with those wings, though of course he can't say that.] I've had worse.

[She seems comforted by that.]

The city seems like a nice place. Is it usually this lively? Or is it more of a sleepy town?

[faredthere]

Somewhere in between, I would say? We aren't always having parties, but there's usually something going on somewhere.

[impossibilities]

That sounds very... familiar. A little like my old home village. [Though Tara wasn't really a village.] Forgive me if it is impertinent, but what is your mask for?

[faredthere]

It's fashionable! [He doesn't sound offended.] I can take it off if I want to.

[impossibilities]

It is? Oh, I was hoping it was a tragic story, one where a brave and dashing warrior had to hide his face in memory of a love lost. [She clasps her hands briefly in fake dramatics, then laughs softly.] What particular fashion is it? I have a bit of an interest in such things. Do you use different masks?

[faredthere]

[He laughs at her fake dramatics - wouldn't that be something, him as a dashing warrior?]

I'm quite fond of this one, but I have been known to switch it out for special occasions. And when this one gets dirty, of course.

[He deliberately doesn't answer the first question.]

[Hmm.]

Intriguing. I'd like to see a special occasion mask. Perhaps a masquerade sometime? That would be quite fun. [She's brightening up; a proper party on the horizon? Just let her bake all the cakes.]

A masquerade, you say~ I think I could arrange one! When you've all settled in somewhat, of course.
